Author: Jeremiah Ray

Jeremiah Ray is an interdisciplinary artist and writer. His visual artwork reflects an ongoing journey of exploration. Having traveled extensively during his formative years, he aims to teach others how to discover their unique voices in art, believing that it transcends verbal communication. In 2016, after being diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer, his perspective on art shifted significantly. This experience heightened his awareness of the challenges associated with vulnerability and communication. Guided by these themes, Jeremiah has embarked on a personal journey of healing and self-discovery.

there are new buds on the lilac

i was told to trim the ones that passed

there are new buds on the lilac

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 22/07/201921/01/2023

we don’t use
the words
not anymore
our mouths
can’t form the shapes

if we haven’t forgotten
shall we try

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 19/07/201921/01/2023

the dogwood tree
has white stars
each season
we wonder
will they
be present still
white stars
on vibrant green

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 15/07/201921/01/2023

have you tasted
sweat?
only then
are you  human?

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 09/07/201921/01/2023

the rain didn’t arrive

the leaves were mistaken.

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 20/05/201921/01/2023

growing old
i have no worries

what language
will we speak

we will
understand still

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 05/05/201921/01/2023

the sun

it illuminates

the telephone wires

then it sets

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 28/04/201921/01/2023

icy rain
upon the skylight
in early dawn
an owl calls

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 08/04/201921/01/2023

the box spilled
it was all there
our life

Jeremiah Ray Poetry 07/04/201921/01/2023

it is only snow

yes

it will melt

maybe even water the seedlings

but may the rain will do that

instead
