cool evening
sunset burns sky
soon dark
but not yet

let it go
says the mind
has it taught me
i coudn’t learn
says the heart
take this
bring this
what is this
do you remember
being here
summer and
gentle rain
you
so beautiful,
human touch
help me
with this weight
i ask
you
so beautiful.
the petals fall in the rain
just gentle drops
too fragile a flower
rain falls
the earth collects them
tidal waters go
pungent mudflats
tidal waters come
sweet sea air
take this in
breath
take this in
buds have almost opened
the sun rises early
when did this happen
one day spring
the bird is losing its mind.
it was yesterday, too.
the grass is greener &
the buds are open.
the bird is losing its mind.
a storm looms
in the west
the setting sun
a thin strip
caught between night
and the rolling clouds
